Many people can only dream of driving away with a brand new car after attending the Vancouver International Auto Show, but that’s exactly what happened to Chrisanne Kouzas.

On June 6, Kouzas collected the keys to her new 2018 Chevrolet Bolt, a fully electric vehicle (EV), courtesy of BC’s Chevrolet Dealers at Dueck Downtown.

“I’m really excited to have won the prize, especially since it’s an EV. I believe we should be driving EV’s and investing in sustainable energy because it will create greener cities,” said Kouzas.

Over 36,000 people entered to win the Grand Prize Chevrolet Bolt EV this year at the 2018 Vancouver International Auto Show, with over 10,000 of them opting in to learn more about the vehicle.

“We’re happy the vehicle has been awarded to someone who is so thrilled to receive it,” said Jeff Hall, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the New Car Dealers Association of BC.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV is the winner of a host of vehicle awards and most recently named the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s 2018 Canadian Green Car of the Year at the Auto Show, and has been described as a “game changer” when it comes to EVs.

“On behalf of Chevrolet and GM, we congratulate Chrisanne as the winner of a brand-new Bolt EV. It is an outstanding vehicle and like no other when it comes to EVs,” said Bruce Schappert, District Sales Manager for GM in Vancouver.

EVs took center stage at the 2018 Vancouver International Auto Show, with many vehicle manufacturers focusing their efforts on new BEV and PHEV models. Attendees, too, were captivated by the new technology, with the CEVforBC™ Electric Vehicle Experience seeing almost 1,500 visitors take test drives over the course of the Auto Show.

The 99th Annual Vancouver International Auto Show returns March 19-24, 2019 at the Vancouver Convention Centre (West).
